Visión y Compromiso Event Agreement, Waiver, and Release

If another individual participates in my place per Visión y Compromiso transfer policy, the new registrant agrees to this Code of Conduct Policy, Disclaimer, Waiver, and Release by default of transfer.

Event Code of Conduct Policy Agreement

The Visión y Compromiso Events such as the Annual Conference, Trainings, and other gatherings are designed to increase interaction, engagement, collaboration, connectivity, and community, in a fun and safe learning environment.

Disruptions

We value the participation of each member of the community and endeavor to deliver an enjoyable and fulfilling experience. Event participants are expected to conduct themselves with integrity, courtesy and respect for others and maintain the highest level of professionalism at all programs and events, whether officially sponsored by Visión y Compromiso or not. Disruptions that interfere with the event experience for other attendees are not permitted. All attendees, speakers, organizers, volunteers, partners, vendors and staff at any Visión y Compromiso event are required to observe the Event Code of Conduct.

Anti-Harassment

We are dedicated to providing a harassment-free event experience for everyone, regardless of gender, gender identity and expression, age, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, body size, race, ethnicity, religion (or lack thereof), or technology choices. We do not tolerate harassment of event participants in any form. Sexual language and imagery is not appropriate for any event venue, including talks, workshops, parties, Instagram and other online media. Event participants violating these rules may be sanctioned or expelled from the event without a refund at the discretion of the event organizers.

Harassment includes offensive verbal comments related to gender, gender identity and expression, age, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, body size, race, ethnicity, religion, technology choices, sexual images in public spaces, deliberate intimidation, stalking, following, harassing photography or recording, sustained disruption of talks or other events, inappropriate physical contact, and unwelcome sexual attention.

Be kind to others. Do not insult or defame participants. Harassment in any form, sexist, racist, or exclusionary jokes are not condoned at Visión y Compromiso events.

Participants violating these rules may be asked to leave the event without warning at the sole discretion of Visión y Compromiso. 

Participants asked to stop any harassing behavior are expected to comply immediately.

Liability and Assumption of Risk

I understand participation in this Visión y Compromiso event is entirely voluntary, and as an event attendee, I voluntarily assume all risks that may occur as a result of my participation in the event, including, without limitation, the risk of property damage, illness, or personal injury (including death).

I hereby agree to release and hold harmless Visión y Compromiso, its officers, employees, and representatives from any and all claims, demands, or causes of action, and all expenses incidental thereto (including attorney’s fees), based upon or arising out of any loss (including financial loss), property damage, illness, or personal injury (including death) caused by or resulting in any way from my participation in this Visión y Compromiso event.

By completion and submission of the Visión y Compromiso event registration form, I certify I have read, fully understand, and agree to the terms of the Liability Waiver and Assumption of Risk policy.

Media Waiver and Agreement

I understand and agree that all property rights in the material presented, including common law copyright, are expressly reserved to the presenter or speaker or to Visión y Compromiso. 

Attendees of the event are not permitted to audio or videorecord sessions without the express written permission of Visión y Compromiso.

Visión y Compromiso intends to take photographs and video of this event for use in Visión y Compromiso newsletters and promotional material, in print, electronic and other media, including the Visión y Compromiso website and social media accounts. By participating in this event, I grant Visión y Compromiso the right to use any image, photograph, voice or likeness, without limitation, in its promotional materials and publicity efforts without compensation. All media become the property of Visión y Compromiso. Media may be displayed, published, distributed reproduced, or used by Visión y Compromiso for any purpose. This permission extends to all languages, formats, and markets. This permission shall continue unless I decide to revoke it in writing.

Audio and video will be captured and recorded during any live (real time) completely virtual sessions. If participating virtually, it is the responsibility of the attendee to turn off their audio and/or video settings if they don’t wish to be part of the recording.

I agree to release, defend, and hold harmless Visión y Compromiso and its and its officers, employees, and representatives, for any publication of my image or voice in whole or in part—whether on paper, through electronic media, or on websites—from any claims, damages, or liability arising from or related to the use of my personal story or testimony, image, photographs, or video, including but not limited to any misuse, distortion, blurring, alteration, optical illusion, or use in composite form, whether intentional or not, that may occur or be produced in taking, processing, or production of the finished product, its publication, or distribution.
